ROLINE 21.15.8647 InfiniBand/fibre optic cable, 15 m, LC–LC in OS2 quality is a uniboot patch cord designed for high-density optical installations. The cable uses a duplex uniboot structure with two fibers in a single compact jacket and LC connectors on both ends. The sheath is made of halogen-free, low-smoke, flame-retardant material (LSFRZH), and connectors are assembled with ceramic ferrules to ensure stable optical contact and low insertion loss. The uniboot design allows simple polarity changes without special tools, and aramid yarn provides strain relief to increase tensile strength.
The compact uniboot design reduces space requirements in patch panels and fiber distribution frames while maintaining full-duplex transmission. OS2 single-mode fiber delivers low attenuation for long-distance links. The LSFRZH jacket improves fire safety by reducing smoke and halogen emissions. High-quality LC connectors with ceramic ferrules and reliable assembly lower the risk of signal loss and ensure consistent performance in data center and telecommunication environments.
Route the cable through cable management trays or ducts to the required patch panel or termination point. Insert LC connectors into corresponding LC ports on transceivers, patch panels or adapters, ensuring correct alignment of the connector key. To change fiber polarity, separate the uniboot connector sections and swap the fiber positions following the connector’s polarity marking; no special tools are required. Avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius to prevent increased attenuation or damage to the fiber.
For optimal performance, inspect LC connector endfaces before insertion and clean with appropriate fiber cleaning tools if contamination is present. Maintain bend radius (do not exceed recommended bend limits), avoid excessive tensile loads despite aramid reinforcement, and secure the cable in high-density panels to prevent strain on connectors. Use this cable in applications that require single-mode OS2 performance and LSFRZH jacket material where fire safety and low smoke are priorities.
