The ROLINE Fibre Optic Jumper Cable LC/LC OM4 50/125 µm (10 m) is a multimode patch cable designed for high-bandwidth, short- to medium-reach network connections. With a 50 µm core and OM4 laser-optimized fiber, this 10 m LC-to-LC jumper supports full-duplex links in data centers, enterprise networks and backbone installations that require reliable transmission at 1, 10, 40 and 100 Gbit/s.
OM4 multimode fiber provides extended bandwidth and low attenuation, enabling longer reaches at high data rates compared with lower-grade multimode fibers. The LC/LC connector configuration ensures compact, high-density terminations while the 10 m length offers flexibility for rack-to-rack or equipment-to-panel connections. The cable is suitable for Ethernet, Fibre Channel and OIF applications and is optimized for 10 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s links.
Route the LC/LC jumper between compatible LC ports on transceivers, patch panels or switches, observing connector orientation and duplex pairing. Ensure connectors and adapter ports are clean before insertion to minimize signal loss. Secure the cable to cable-management hardware to avoid tight bends; maintain the minimum bend radius recommended by the equipment or cable manufacturer.
For 10 Gbit/s links, OM4 supports extended reaches up to approximately 550 meters; for 40 Gbit/s use typical reaches around 300 meters depending on transceiver type. For short-reach high-density environments such as data centers, OM4 provides higher modal bandwidth than OM3 and is a suitable choice when future upgrades to higher speeds are planned. Regularly inspect and clean LC connectors and avoid excessive bending to maintain optimal performance.
