ROLINE OM4 50/125µm Fibre Optic Jumper Cable LC/SC 1m is a duplex multimode patch cable with a 50 µm core optimized for laser sources and extended bandwidth. The 1 meter cable with LC and SC connectors is intended for short-distance links in data centers, server rooms and building backbones where OM4 performance is required. The cable’s purple jacket identifies it as OM4 and supports high-speed Ethernet, Fibre Channel and OIF applications.

Advantages

The OM4 fiber provides an increased modal bandwidth (laser bandwidth ~4700 MHz·km) that exceeds IEEE requirements for 10 Gbit/s over 300 m and allows extended reach at 10 Gbit/s up to about 550 m in suitable installations. OM4 offers higher performance at 10 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s compared with OM2/OM3 while remaining compatible with lower-rate links such as 100 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s.
