The SecurityNET SF/UTP Cat.5e patch cable is a high-performance networking solution engineered for stable and reliable data transmission within local area networks. Measuring 1 meter in length, this cable is designed to connect essential hardware such as computers, routers, switches, and other network-enabled devices. The cable features an SF/UTP shielding construction, which provides robust protection against electromagnetic interference, ensuring signal integrity in environments where electronic noise might otherwise disrupt connectivity.
Advantages
This patch cable offers superior durability thanks to its high-quality PVC jacket, which protects the internal wiring from physical wear and environmental factors. The shielded twisted pair design significantly reduces crosstalk and external interference, leading to more consistent network speeds and fewer data transmission errors. Its vibrant green color serves as a practical tool for network administrators, allowing for quick and efficient cable identification and organization within dense server racks or complex wiring setups.
Suitable for
- Connecting desktop computers to wall outlets or network switches
- Linking routers and modems to local area network hardware
- Organizing network connections in home or office environments
- Applications requiring reliable data transfer at Cat.5e performance standards
When it may not be suitable
This cable is not intended for outdoor use or environments exposed to extreme temperatures, as the PVC jacket is designed primarily for indoor conditions. Additionally, it may not be suitable for high-speed network infrastructures requiring Cat.6a or higher standards, as it is limited to Cat.5e performance capabilities.
Key specifications
- Cable category: Cat.5e
- Shielding type: SF/UTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair)
- Length: 1 meter
- Jacket material: PVC
- Color: Green
How to use
To use the cable, simply insert the RJ45 connector into the corresponding network port on your device until you hear a distinct click, indicating that the locking tab is secure. Ensure that the cable is not bent at sharp angles or subjected to excessive tension, as this can damage the internal conductors over time. For optimal performance, keep the cable away from high-voltage power lines to minimize potential electromagnetic interference.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify that the 1-meter length is sufficient for your specific connection distance
- Ensure your network equipment supports Cat.5e standards
- Check if your environment requires shielded cables to prevent signal interference
Usage recommendations
For the best network stability, avoid running patch cables alongside power cables and ensure that all connections are fully seated in their respective ports.
