The SecurityNET S/FTP Cat.6A patch cable is a high-performance networking solution engineered for demanding environments where data integrity and speed are paramount. Measuring 0.5 meters in length, this cable is designed to provide a reliable connection between network devices in high-speed local area networks, server rooms, and data centers. With its advanced S/FTP shielding, it offers exceptional protection against electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, ensuring stable and consistent signal transmission.
Advantages
This patch cable utilizes S/FTP shielding, which combines individual foil shielding for each pair with an overall braid shield to minimize signal degradation and external noise. The inclusion of an LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket enhances safety by reducing the emission of toxic smoke and corrosive gases in the event of a fire, making it suitable for installations in public buildings and confined spaces. Its compact 0.5m length is ideal for reducing cable clutter in patch panels and server racks, promoting better airflow and organization.
Suitable for
- Connecting servers and switches in data centers
- High-speed local area network installations
- Professional office networking environments
- Applications requiring high electromagnetic interference resistance
When it may not be suitable
This cable is not intended for long-distance connections due to its 0.5-meter length. It is also not designed for outdoor use or direct burial, as the jacket is not rated for exposure to harsh environmental conditions or UV radiation.
Key specifications
- Category: Cat.6A
- Shielding: S/FTP (Screened Foiled Twisted Pair)
- Jacket material: LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen)
- Length: 0.5 meters
- Color: Blue
How to use
To use the cable, simply insert the RJ45 connector into the corresponding port on your network device, such as a switch, router, or network interface card. Ensure that the connector is fully seated until you hear a click, confirming a secure physical connection. When routing the cable, avoid sharp bends or excessive tension to maintain the integrity of the internal twisted pairs and shielding.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify the required length for your specific setup to avoid excess slack or insufficient reach
- Ensure your network hardware supports Cat.6A standards to achieve optimal performance
- Check if your installation environment requires LSZH compliance for fire safety regulations
Usage recommendations
For optimal network performance, avoid running patch cables parallel to high-voltage power lines, as this can introduce interference despite the high-quality shielding. Regularly inspect the connectors for dust or damage to maintain a reliable connection.
