Networking cable Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m Yellow
The Sharkoon Cat.6a SFTP RJ-45 Cat6a 5 m Yellow is a shielded Ethernet cable designed for high-speed network connections over a distance of five metres. Built to meet Cat6a specifications, this cable supports fast data transfer rates while the S/FTP shielding reduces electromagnetic interference, helping maintain signal integrity in home and office environments. Both ends are fitted with standard RJ-45 connectors and the cable comes in a bright yellow jacket for clear visual identification in patch panels and cable runs.
The S/FTP construction combines an overall foil shield with individually shielded twisted pairs to provide improved protection against crosstalk and external electromagnetic disturbances. The Cat6a specification enables higher bandwidth and better performance for Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications over the specified length. A 5 m cable length offers flexibility for typical workstation-to-switch connections, and the yellow outer jacket enhances visibility for quick cable management and troubleshooting.
Connect one RJ-45 plug to the Ethernet port of your device (PC, laptop, router or switch) and the other to the corresponding network port. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click into place. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and keep it away from strong sources of electromagnetic interference such as unshielded power cables and transformers. If used in a patch panel or switch cabinet, secure the cable with appropriate cable management accessories to prevent strain on the connectors.
For optimal performance, avoid kinking the cable and respect the recommended bend radius. When deploying multiple cables, separate data cabling from high-voltage power lines when possible. Use the yellow jacket as a visual identifier for network segments or specific device groups to simplify maintenance and troubleshooting.
