ShiverPeaks 08-62010 is a shielded RJ45 network extension cable designed to extend Ethernet connections between devices. Constructed with PIMF (Pairs in Metal Foil) shielding and Cat.7 raw cable characteristics, the grey, halogen-free 0.5 m lead provides enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference and reduced crosstalk compared with unshielded extensions. It is suitable for temporary or permanent extension of existing network runs when a shielded RJ45 connection is required.
The PIMF shielding reduces interference and improves signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. The halogen-free jacket enhances safety in confined spaces, and the short 0.5 m length makes it convenient for patching between nearby devices, switches or patch panels without excess cable. The cable’s Cat.7 construction ensures compatibility with high-speed Ethernet standards while maintaining reliable performance as an extension.
This short 0.5 m extension is not intended for long cable runs; use a longer certified cable for greater distances. If your installation does not require shielding (for example, in low-interference home environments), an unshielded Cat5e/Cat6 patch cable may be a simpler and more cost-effective option.
Insert the shielded RJ45 connectors into the corresponding LAN ports of the devices you wish to connect, ensuring the connector clips engage. For proper shielding performance, make sure connected devices or patch panels support shielded connections and that the cable shields are grounded through the equipment. Use the cable for short extensions between nearby equipment such as switches, patch panels, routers and networked devices.
For best results, use the ShiverPeaks shielded extension in environments with potential electromagnetic interference and connect to grounded, shield-capable equipment; avoid bending the cable sharply and keep connector contacts clean for reliable signal transmission.
