Network cable ShiverPeaks 08-62010-V PIMF — shielded paired copper cable for data transmission
ShiverPeaks 08-62010-V PIMF is a shielded copper network cable designed for reliable data transmission over twisted pairs. The cable features pair-in-metal-foil (PIMF) construction with overall screening to reduce crosstalk and electromagnetic interference, making it suitable for structured cabling in office, server room and residential environments where improved EMI protection is required. It is a halogen-free cable intended for use with standard RJ45 network hardware and patching systems that accept screened twisted-pair cable types.
The PIMF design provides individual metal foil shielding around each twisted pair, combined with an overall shield, which improves immunity to external electromagnetic interference and reduces pair-to-pair crosstalk. Halogen-free materials reduce smoke and toxic gas emission in case of fire. The cable's copper conductors and consistent pair geometry support stable signal transmission over typical Ethernet distances, while the screened construction enables use in environments with elevated EMI from nearby electrical equipment or cabling.
Strip the outer jacket carefully to expose the foil-wrapped pairs without damaging the pair screening. Untwist pairs only as much as required for termination, and maintain pair order and length to preserve signal integrity. Use RJ45 connectors and shields designed for screened cables and ensure proper bonding of the cable shield to the connector and building grounding system where applicable. Route and secure the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical stress; follow local installation standards for separation from power cabling when necessary.
For best performance, terminate the cable with screened RJ45 plugs or keystone jacks, and ensure the cable shield is properly grounded at patch panels or equipment racks. Avoid running the cable in close parallel with high-voltage power lines and keep bend radius within manufacturer guidelines to preserve transmission characteristics.
