Network Cable ShiverPeaks 08-64011 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF, bulk data cable for Ethernet
ShiverPeaks Network Cable 08-64011 CAT6 S/FTP PIMF is a bulk data cable engineered for wired Ethernet installations that require reliable high-speed transmission and improved immunity to interference. The cable's construction uses individually foil-shielded pairs plus an overall foil shield (S/FTP) and a pair-in-metal-foil (PIMF) configuration to reduce crosstalk and external noise, making it suitable for local area networks, structured cabling and patching in residential, office and data center environments.
The S/FTP construction with individually shielded pairs and an overall foil shield minimizes near-end and far-end crosstalk while providing consistent performance across Cat6 frequency ranges. PIMF pair configuration improves pair balance and reduces susceptibility to electromagnetic interference from adjacent cables and equipment. The design supports high data rates and stable signal integrity over standard Ethernet distances, and is compatible with common RJ45 terminations and panel installations when terminated according to industry guidelines.
Install the cable as part of a structured cabling system or run it from patch panels to network outlets following building and safety codes. Strip the outer jacket and individual pair foil carefully to preserve shielding; maintain the integrity of the drain wire and foil until termination. Terminate the cable with compatible shielded RJ45 connectors or keystone jacks that provide proper contact with the overall shield and pair shields where required. Test each link after termination with an appropriate cable tester to verify continuity, pair order, and performance parameters.
To maintain performance, avoid tight bends and heavy compression on the cable, keep runs away from high-voltage power lines and strong EMI sources, and follow recommended maximum horizontal run lengths for Ethernet. Use appropriate shielded connectors and properly connect the cable shield to a grounded chassis or patch panel to realize the benefits of S/FTP shielding.
