Network cable ShiverPeaks 08-64012 Cat 6 S/FTP PIMF, copper, bulk cable
ShiverPeaks 08-64012 Cat 6 S/FTP PIMF copper bulk cable is designed for structured cabling and Ethernet networks that require reduced crosstalk and reliable high-speed transmission. The cable uses an S/FTP design — foil shielding around each pair combined with an overall braided screen — to lower electromagnetic interference and maintain signal integrity for Gigabit Ethernet and other demanding network applications. Supplied as bulk copper cable, it is suitable for installation runs in offices, data centers and residential environments where a shielded Cat 6 solution is required.
The S/FTP PIMF construction provides enhanced protection against external electromagnetic interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, which contributes to stable throughput and reduced error rates in congested electrical environments. Copper conductors ensure consistent electrical performance and compatibility with standard RJ45 terminated connections for Cat 6 systems. As a bulk cable, it allows flexible installation length selection and professional termination for permanent links or patch panels.
Install the cable as part of a structured cabling system, running it between network equipment, patch panels and wall outlets as required. Cut the bulk cable to the needed length and follow standard Cat 6 termination practices: strip the outer jacket carefully, preserve shielding where necessary for grounding, arrange pairs according to the wiring scheme (T568A or T568B), and terminate with compatible shielded RJ45 connectors or at shielded keystone jacks and patch panels. Ensure the overall braid and foil are connected to equipment ground to maintain shielding effectiveness.
Route the cable away from major sources of interference, such as high-voltage power lines and large motors. Maintain proper bend radius during installation and avoid excessive pulling tension. When terminating, use shielded connectors and ensure a continuous ground for the braid to achieve the intended S/FTP performance.
