Network cable ShiverPeaks 08-64076 CAT 6 S/FTP PIMF, 4-pair, shielded
ShiverPeaks 08-64076 CAT 6 S/FTP PIMF network cable is designed for structured Ethernet installations requiring reliable Gigabit performance. The cable comprises four twisted pairs with individual foil shielding around each pair plus an overall braided or foil shield, providing enhanced protection against crosstalk and electromagnetic interference. Available as a pre-assembled patch cable with right-angle to straight connector options and a 10.0 m length, it supports typical office, server room and workplace connectivity where consistent 1 Gbit/s transmission and low error rates are required.
The S/FTP PIMF construction combines an overall shield with individually shielded pairs to reduce alien crosstalk and preserve signal integrity across runs. Shielding improves immunity to external electromagnetic disturbances in environments with active electrical equipment. The CAT 6 specification ensures performance up to 250 MHz, suitable for Gigabit Ethernet, while pre-terminated connectors provide plug-and-play convenience without on-site termination. The cable’s right-angle and straight connector configuration helps manage cable routing in patch panels and behind equipment.
Connect one end of the cable to the RJ45 port of a network device such as a switch, router or network interface card and the other end to a patch panel or another device. Ensure that shielded ports and grounded infrastructure are used when relying on cable shielding for optimal interference suppression. Route the cable avoiding sharp bends and sources of strong electromagnetic fields; maintain recommended bend radius and secure with appropriate cable management accessories. Verify link status and speed on connected devices to confirm a proper Gigabit connection.
For best performance, use the cable within structured cabling systems that provide proper grounding for shielded cables, avoid running parallel to high-voltage power lines, and limit exposure to extreme temperatures. Test links after installation using certified network testers if tight performance margins are required.
