ShiverPeaks 75205-500 CAT5e SF/UTP ALU Foil, 4-pair Ethernet cable is a shielded twisted-pair cable engineered for reliable LAN connectivity. The cable contains four twisted pairs and combines pair-level screening with an overall aluminum foil shield to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. It supports CAT5e performance for Fast Ethernet and basic Gigabit links in office, home, and structured cabling environments where improved signal integrity is required compared with unshielded alternatives.
The SF/UTP design provides pair screening plus an overall foil shield, offering enhanced protection against external interference while remaining flexible enough for installation in racks, conduits, and trunking. Its CAT5e-rated transmission characteristics ensure compatibility with common Ethernet equipment and switches. The cable’s construction balances mechanical robustness and manageability, allowing consistent data transmission over horizontal and patching runs.
Measure and cut the required length, leaving additional slack for termination and routing. Strip the outer jacket carefully to expose the four twisted pairs without damaging the foil shield or conductors. Maintain appropriate cable preparation to preserve shielding continuity: fold the overall foil back over the outer jacket or follow the chosen connector/termination system instructions for SF/UTP cabling. Terminate using compatible RJ45 shielded connectors or punch-down blocks designed for shielded cables, and ensure proper earthing of the shield at the patch panel or connector to achieve effective EMI reduction.
