Network Cable ShiverPeaks 75720-AY Cat 6A S/FTP PIMF, 4-pair, shielded twisted pair
ShiverPeaks 75720-AY Cat 6A S/FTP PIMF network cable is designed for structured cabling and installations that require stable high-speed Ethernet up to 10 Gbps. The cable features four twisted pairs with individual foil shields around each pair and an overall braided or foil shield, providing layered protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and near-end crosstalk. Constructed to meet Cat 6A performance limits, this cable is suitable for data centers, office networks and other environments where consistent Gigabit+ throughput and reduced noise are important.
The S/FTP PIMF construction combines an overall shield and individually shielded pairs to minimize external interference and pair-to-pair crosstalk, improving signal integrity for longer runs and higher frequencies. Its Cat 6A performance supports 10 Gbps Ethernet and is specified for demanding network applications. The cable is halogen-free and GHMT-certified, which supports safety requirements in commercial and public installations and helps reduce toxic fumes in the event of fire. The cable's design supports reliable termination and compatibility with standard RJ45 connectors and patch panels used in modern structured cabling.
Route the cable through conduits, cable trays or cable management channels according to installation plans, avoiding sharp bends and excessive pulling tension. Terminate both ends with compatible shielded RJ45 connectors or install into shielded keystone jacks and patch panels to maintain the continuity of the shield. Ensure proper grounding of the shield at designated points to enable the shielding to provide effective EMI protection. Test the installed link with certified cable testers for Cat 6A parameters to verify performance and identify any faults or incorrect terminations.
For best performance, maintain bend radius recommendations, avoid parallel runs with power cabling where possible, and use shielded components (connectors, jacks, panels) compatible with S/FTP cabling. Perform end-to-end certification tests after installation to confirm compliance with Cat 6A specifications and to ensure reliable 10 Gbps operation.
