Fibre optic cable ShiverPeaks BS77937/4 2m LC SC Violet
The ShiverPeaks BS77937/4 2m LC SC Violet is an OM4 multimode fibre optic patch cable designed for short- to medium-reach high-bandwidth links. The cable features an LC connector on one end and an SC connector on the other, a 50 µm core diameter and support for full duplex communication. Constructed to meet BS77937/4 quality guidelines, this violet-coloured cable is intended for installations where consistent signal integrity and reduced modal dispersion are required.
This OM4 fibre cable delivers high bandwidth capacity and low insertion loss for demanding network environments. The 50 µm core supports higher modal bandwidth compared to lower-grade multimode cables, improving performance for 10 GbE and faster multimode links over the supported distances. The LC and SC connector combination provides flexible interfacing options with equipment and patch panels, and the 2 m length offers a neat reach for rack-to-rack or shelf connections. The violet jacket allows for easy visual identification in structured cabling systems.
Inspect connectors and ports for dust or damage before installation. Align and insert the LC connector into the corresponding LC port and the SC connector into the SC port until a secure connection is made. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and mechanical strain; maintain the manufacturer-recommended bend radius for multimode fibre. Test the link with appropriate optical test equipment to verify insertion loss and continuity after installation.
Use this OM4 cable in controlled indoor environments such as data centres and equipment rooms. Keep connectors covered with dust caps when not connected, avoid stepping on or crushing the cable, and label both ends for traceability in structured cabling installations.
