SmartMax Prof Acrylic Ink in Dioxazine Purple 186 is a professional-grade, pigment-based ink designed to meet the rigorous demands of artists, illustrators, and calligraphers. This 30ml bottle contains a highly concentrated formula that delivers exceptional color intensity and a smooth, consistent flow. Once applied, the ink dries to a permanent, water-resistant finish, ensuring that your artwork remains vibrant and protected over time.

Advantages

The primary benefit of this acrylic ink is its remarkable versatility and high pigment load, which allows for deep, saturated color application. Its fluid consistency makes it ideal for achieving fine lines, smooth washes, and intricate details without clogging tools. Because it is permanent upon drying, it is perfectly suited for layering and mixed media techniques where durability is essential. The ink adheres reliably to a wide range of surfaces, providing a professional result for both delicate illustrations and bold artistic expressions.

Suitable for

• Fine art painting and illustration
• Calligraphy and lettering projects
• Airbrushing applications
• Mixed media art and layering
• Detailed brush work

When it may not be suitable

This ink may not be ideal for applications requiring re-solubility, as it becomes permanent once dry and cannot be reactivated with water. It is also not intended for use on surfaces that are not compatible with acrylic binders, such as certain non-porous plastics or oily substrates.

Key specifications

• Color: Dioxazine Purple 186
• Volume: 30ml
• Base: Pigment-based acrylic
• Finish: Permanent and water-resistant
• Application: Brush, dip pen, or airbrush

How to use

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use to ensure the pigments are evenly distributed. You can apply the ink directly from the bottle using a brush, dip pen, or by loading it into an airbrush. For thinner applications or washes, the ink can be diluted with water or an appropriate acrylic medium. Ensure your tools are cleaned immediately after use to prevent the ink from drying and hardening on the bristles or nozzle.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify the compatibility of your chosen surface with acrylic-based media.
• Consider the permanent nature of the ink, as it cannot be washed away once dry.
• Ensure proper ventilation if using the ink with an airbrush.

Usage recommendations

For best results, store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the pigments. Always test the ink on a scrap piece of your intended surface to check for adhesion and color absorption before starting your final project.
