Hardware Firewall Sophos XGS 2100
The Sophos XGS 2100 is a 1U rackmount hardware firewall designed for mid-sized and distributed organizations. It delivers up to 30 Gbit/s throughput and offers IPSec VPN performance listed as 17000 Gbit/s, with TLS interception throughput of 1100 MB/s. The appliance includes multiple high-speed built-in interfaces and optional add-on connectivity modules, and is powered by a high-speed CPU together with a dedicated Xstream Flow Processor for hardware acceleration. Physical dimensions are 438 mm (W) × 405 mm (D) × 44 mm (H) and the unit weighs 4.7 kg. The device accepts AC input voltage from 100 to 240 V and carries certifications such as CB, CE and FCC.
The XGS 2100 combines hardware acceleration and a high-performance CPU to maintain low latency and high throughput for firewall, VPN and TLS inspection tasks. Built-in high-speed interfaces plus optional connectivity modules provide deployment flexibility for distributed or growing networks. Rackmount 1U form factor facilitates installation in standard network racks while certifications ensure compliance with common regulatory requirements.
Install the Sophos XGS 2100 into a standard 19-inch rack using the 1U mounting space. Connect the required network interfaces and any optional connectivity modules before powering the unit with an appropriate AC supply (100–240 V). Use the vendor-provided management interface to perform initial configuration: define firewall policies, configure IPSec VPN tunnels, enable TLS inspection if required, and apply security profiles. Monitor performance and logs through the management console and adjust settings to match traffic patterns and security requirements.
For optimal performance, place the XGS 2100 in a well-ventilated rack position and keep firmware and security definitions up to date. When enabling TLS interception, ensure certificate and privacy policies are configured to meet organizational and legal requirements. Consider using the dedicated Xstream Flow Processor for throughput-sensitive features and test configurations in a staged environment before deploying to production.
