Modeling clay Staedtler FIMOair basic 8100 Terracotta 500 g
Staedtler FIMOair basic 8100 Terracotta is a ready-to-use air-drying modeling clay offered in a 500 g single pack. This soft modelling material hardens at room temperature without the need for baking, making it convenient for home crafts, studios, classrooms and prototyping. The terracotta shade provides a natural, warm tone suited for figurines, decorative elements and small sculptural details. The product is shrink-wrapped for retail presentation and protected against moisture prior to first use.
FIMOair basic features a soft, easily workable consistency that allows for fine shaping and smoothing by hand or with simple tools. It dries to a lightweight, stable form at room temperature, eliminating the need for ovens or kilns. The terracotta color is homogenous and minimizes the need for additional painting for projects that require an earthy hue. The 500 g format balances enough material for multiple small projects while remaining compact for storage and transport.
Condition the modeling clay by kneading it until it becomes pliable and free of air pockets. Shape the material by hand or with modelling tools to form the desired object; join pieces by slightly moistening contact surfaces before pressing together. Allow the finished piece to dry at room temperature on a flat, non-stick surface; drying times vary with thickness—thin elements dry in hours, thicker forms may take days. After full drying, surfaces can be sanded, drilled or painted with compatible acrylic paints if additional color or protection is required.
Store unopened packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep unused portions wrapped in plastic or in an airtight container to prevent premature drying. For best results, avoid very thick sections when modelling; create hollows or armatures for larger items to reduce drying time and risk of cracking.
