Modeling clay Staedtler FIMO air basic 8100 Beige 500 g
Staedtler FIMO air basic 8100 in beige is a ready-to-use air-dry modelling clay supplied as a 500 g block. This solvent-free modelling material is formulated for handcrafts, small sculptures and hobby projects. It dries at room temperature without baking, producing dimensionally stable pieces that can be filed, sanded, drilled, painted or varnished after drying. The block is foil-wrapped to prevent drying out before use.
FIMO air basic offers a smooth clay-like consistency that is easy to shape by hand or with simple tools. It contains a high proportion of natural substances and is ready to use straight from the pack, eliminating the need for kilns or baking. Once hardened at room temperature the material remains stable and can be further finished by sanding, drilling or painting, allowing precise refinement of models and decorative items. Foil packaging helps maintain freshness during storage.
Knead the FIMO air basic block to achieve an even, pliable texture before shaping. Model the piece by hand or with standard sculpting tools to obtain the desired form. Allow the finished object to air-dry at room temperature until fully hardened; drying time depends on wall thickness and ambient conditions. After drying, refine the surface by filing or sanding as needed, then apply paint or varnish according to the chosen finishing method.
For best results, dry thin sections and small items at room temperature on a flat, absorbent surface and turn larger pieces occasionally to ensure even drying. Avoid exposing unfinished clay to direct heat sources. Store unused material sealed in its foil packaging to prevent premature drying. Use appropriate paints and varnishes recommended for air-dry modelling materials.
