Pencil Staedtler 512 006
The Staedtler 512 006 sharpener has two sharpening holes to accommodate different pencil types. One hole is for standard blacklead pencils up to 8.2 mm Ø and sharpens to a 23° angle for precise, clear lines. The other hole accepts thicker blacklead and coloured pencils up to 10.2 mm Ø and sharpens to a 30° angle for broader, softer strokes. The sharpener features a hinged cover that collects shavings and a lid with a safety lock to prevent accidental opening.
Two dedicated holes allow reliable sharpening for both standard and thick pencils without damaging tips. The 23° and 30° sharpening angles provide control over line precision and softness. The hinged cover contains shavings, reducing mess, and the safety-lock lid prevents unwanted spills during transport or storage.
Insert the pencil into the appropriate hole according to its diameter. Rotate the pencil clockwise while holding the sharpener steady until the desired point is reached. Open the hinged cover to remove shavings and close the lid; engage the safety lock to avoid accidental opening during transport.
Use the smaller 23° hole for standard graphite pencils when you need precise, fine lines. Use the larger 30° hole for coloured or thick pencils to produce softer, broader points. Empty the shavings receptacle regularly to maintain performance and avoid jamming.
