Fiber Optic Cable StarTech 15m Multimode Duplex 50/125 OM2 LSZH LC–LC
Fiber Optic Cable StarTech 15m Multimode Duplex 50/125 OM2 LSZH LC–LC
The StarTech Fiber Optic Cable 15m Multimode Duplex 50/125 OM2 LSZH LC–LC is a factory-tested multimode duplex patch cable designed for short-range high-bandwidth links. With OM2 50/125 µm glass and LC connectors on both ends, this 15 metre cable supports duplex data transmission for Gigabit Ethernet and Fiber Channel applications. Its LSZH jacket provides low smoke and zero halogen properties for installations where reduced toxicity and minimal corrosion byproducts are required.
This LC–LC multimode jumper offers consistent optical performance and is individually tested to meet insertion loss tolerances for reliable connectivity. The LSZH outer jacket reduces smoke and halogen emissions in case of fire, making the cable suitable for enclosed spaces and locations with restrictive building codes. The duplex construction enables simultaneous transmit and receive paths, and the cable is built to withstand normal pulls and strains encountered during installation and cable management.
Route the cable between LC ports on patch panels, transceivers, switches or other network devices, ensuring proper bend radius is maintained to avoid signal loss. Align LC connectors with the adapter or transceiver receptacle and insert until the latch clicks to secure the connection. For duplex operation, maintain consistent orientation of transmit and receive pairs to preserve full duplex communication. If required, label both ends for identification in patching fields.
Store and install the cable in controlled bend-radius conditions and avoid tight kinks. Use clean dust caps or connector cleaning tools before making connections to minimize insertion loss. Choose OM2 multimode fiber for short-range, cost-effective multimode applications; for longer distances or higher modal bandwidth requirements consider higher grade multimode or single-mode options where appropriate.
