USB Type-C to 4x USB Type-A hub providing USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) data transfer. The compact StarTech.com 4-Port USB-C Hub connects to a computer via the integrated 1 ft (30 cm) USB-C host cable and adds four USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices and supports a variety of peripherals including flash drives, external HDD/SSD, cameras, mice, keyboards, webcams and headsets.

Advantages

The hub offers 5 Gbps data throughput per the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard and is plug-and-play across major operating systems including Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS and Android. Its compact, portable design and built-in 30 cm cable reduce connector strain on laptops and 2-in-1 devices. An optional Micro-USB auxiliary power input provides up to 4.5 W (5 V / 0.9 A) to supplement bus power when additional power is needed. Each downstream port includes overcurrent protection to help prevent devices from drawing more current than allocated.

How to use

Connect the hub to a USB-C port on your computer using the built-in 30 cm cable. Plug USB-A peripherals into the four downstream ports. If a connected device requires additional power, attach a compatible Micro-USB power adapter (sold separately) to the hub’s auxiliary power input to supply up to 4.5 W in addition to bus power. The hub is detected automatically by supported operating systems and requires no drivers for standard use.
