StarTech CABSHELF116V 1U Universal Vented Server Rack Shelf for 19-Inch Network Equipment Cabinets Heavy Duty Steel Cantilever Tray 20 kg Capacity

The StarTech CABSHELF116V 1U Universal Vented Server Rack Shelf is designed for 19-inch network equipment cabinets and server racks, offering a reliable flat storage solution for non-rackmount hardware and accessories. Built from heavy-duty commercial cold-rolled steel, this cantilever tray ensures long-lasting durability and stability within professional or domestic IT environments. The integrated ventilated design promotes continuous airflow and efficient heat dissipation, helping to maintain optimal operating temperatures for sensitive electronics.

Advantages

This server rack shelf provides a secure and stable platform for equipment that lacks standard rack-mounting capabilities, maximizing available space by eliminating clutter on desks or floors. Its robust steel construction safely supports a weight capacity of up to 20 kg, making it suitable for a wide range of hardware components, tools, or accessories. The thoughtful ventilation pattern prevents heat accumulation, contributing to the overall reliability and longevity of housed network devices, servers, or audio-visual equipment.

Suitable for

• Hosting non-rackmount IT and networking equipment inside 19-inch server racks
• Storing audio and video accessories in studio or office setups
• Organizing tools and diagnostic devices in server rooms
• Maximizing space in small office and home office environments

When it may not be suitable

This cantilever shelf is not designed for equipment exceeding a weight limit of 20 kg or items that require deep slide-out access rails for frequent maintenance. It is also incompatible with racks or cabinets that do not adhere to standard 19-inch dimensions or lack the necessary front mounting depth.

Key specifications

• Universal 19-inch rack compatibility
• 1U rack height
• 16-inch depth
• 20 kg weight capacity
• Vented steel construction
• Black product colour
• Single piece package

How to use

Position the 1U server rack shelf at your desired height within any standard 19-inch equipment rack or cabinet that complies with EIA-310 standards. Secure the front-mounted unit firmly to the rack vertical rails using appropriate mounting hardware. Ensure that the total weight of the placed equipment does not exceed the specified maximum capacity and distribute the load evenly across the tray surface to maintain stability.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your server rack or cabinet supports standard 19-inch width and has adequate internal depth for the 16-inch shelf
• Check the weight of your equipment to ensure it remains within the 20 kg capacity limit
• Confirm whether your setup requires a fixed shelf or a sliding tray for maintenance access

Usage recommendations: Distribute stored items evenly across the tray to prevent imbalance, and avoid exceeding the 20 kg weight limit to ensure structural integrity and proper ventilation airflow.
