Description

The StarTech RACK-14U-14-BRACKET Wall Mount Network Rack 14U Low Profile 19 Inch Black is a reliable storage solution designed to securely mount shallow IT hardware directly to a wall. Built to accommodate standard 19-inch equipment, this 14U rack features a low-profile 14-inch depth that saves valuable floor space in small offices, home offices, and data closets. Constructed from durable cold-rolled steel, the open-frame design ensures stability while providing easy access for maintenance and cable management.

Advantages

This wall-mounted rack offers a space-saving alternative to floor-standing cabinets by utilizing vertical wall space for telecommunication hardware. Its solid steel construction guarantees long-lasting durability and dependable support for loaded devices. The open-frame design promotes natural airflow to prevent equipment from overheating. Additionally, the pre-drilled mounting holes match standard wall-stud spacing, simplifying the installation process and ensuring a secure anchor to the building framework.

Suitable for

Mounting network switches and patch panels
Organizing shallow IT equipment in small offices
Deploying telecommunication gear in restricted spaces
Setting up wiring closets and server rooms

When it may not be suitable

This rack is not suitable for deep servers, uninterruptible power supplies, or heavy rack-mounted hardware that exceeds the specified depth or weight limits. It is also not recommended for open environments where physical security and enclosure locking mechanisms are required to protect sensitive equipment.

Key specifications

Wall mounted rack design
14U rack capacity
35 kg maximum weight capacity
19 inch equipment compatibility
14 inch low profile depth
Cold-rolled steel construction
Black product colour

How to use

Begin by selecting a suitable wall location with standard stud spacing that aligns with the pre-drilled mounting holes on the bracket. Secure the rack firmly to the wall using the provided mounting hardware. Once the frame is securely fastened, install your 19-inch network equipment, patch panels, or switches into the rack units using the included M6 screws and square cage nuts. Route your cables through the rear opening slots to maintain a clean and organized setup.

What to consider before purchase

Verify the depth of your IT equipment to ensure it fits within the 14-inch low-profile framework
Check that the total weight of your devices does not exceed the 35 kg capacity limit
Confirm wall construction supports secure anchoring at 16-inch stud intervals

Usage recommendations: Regularly inspect the wall mounting fasteners to ensure they remain tight and secure over time. Ensure that the total weight distribution of the installed switches and patch panels is balanced evenly across the 14U rack capacity.
