The StarTech RK1520WALHM 15U wall mounted rack cabinet is a 4-post EIA-310 compliant enclosure designed to hold servers, networking and AV equipment on a wall. It provides a hinged design with reversible doors and removable side panels to allow straightforward access to installed devices, and includes a 1U shelf and 3 m roll of hook-and-loop cable tie for basic cable management. The cabinet supports an adjustable mounting depth from 2 to 16 in and a total load capacity of up to 200 lb (90 kg).

Advantages

This wall mount rack saves floor space while offering the stability of 4-post mounting and a higher weight capacity per U than 2-post racks. The hinged rear enclosure can swing open from either side after installation, and the removable, reversible front door and quick-release side panels permit rapid access. Independent locks on each door and panel increase physical security. Mesh door and vented panels support passive cooling, and the included hook-and-loop cable tie simplifies cable routing.

How to use

Mount the enclosure to wall studs using the 16 in hole spacing for secure attachment. Install rack equipment on the adjustable mounting rails and set rail configuration for square-hole/cage-nut or tapped-rail hardware as required. Position the rear hinge direction by flipping the enclosure during installation so the door opens from the preferred side. Use the included 1U shelf for non-rackable devices and secure panels and doors with their locks when not servicing the equipment. Use the hook-and-loop cable tie to bundle cables and attach them to the rack for a neat layout.

Usage recommendations

Attach the cabinet to wall studs or other suitably rated structural mounts, distribute weight evenly across the rails, and ensure adequate clearance for airflow around the mesh door and vented panels. For heavier installations, verify wall and fasteners meet the cabinet's 90 kg load rating.
