Fiber Optic Cable StarTech.com LC to LC OS2 50m Duplex 9/125µm
StarTech.com 50m LC to LC OS2 Single Mode Duplex Fiber Optic Cable (9/125µm) provides reliable connectivity for 100G networks over OS2 fiber. The cable supports CWDM across an extended wavelength range (1260–1625 nm), features bend-insensitive fiber core construction, and uses a Low-Smoke Zero-Halogen (LSZH) jacket for safer installations. Each cable is individually tested for insertion loss and supplied with a test report to ensure consistent performance.
The OS2 single-mode duplex cable offers low insertion loss (typical below 0.3 dB) due to precision ceramic ferrules and UPC-polished LC connectors, improving return loss compared with older PC polishing. It is engineered to meet or exceed ITU-T G.652.D and G.657.A1 recommendations and IEC type B1.3/B6.a1 standards, and is backward compatible with OS1 networks. The bend-insensitive construction and LSZH jacket make it suitable for constrained routing and installations that require reduced smoke and halogen emissions.
Route the LC to LC fiber patch cable between LC ports on compatible transceivers, switches, or patch panels, ensuring connectors are clean before mating. Align and insert LC connectors until the latch clicks; avoid tight bends and maintain the cable bend radius recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Use the supplied insertion loss test report to verify performance after installation.
Store and handle the fiber cable by the connector boots; clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools before connection. Avoid exceeding the specified bend radius and protect cable terminations with dust caps when not in use. For CWDM systems, confirm transceiver wavelength compatibility across the 1260–1625 nm range prior to deployment.
