The Extralink HEXON 16x 10/100 Mb/s Desktop switch is an unmanaged Layer 2 device designed for reliable wired connectivity in small to medium networks. Equipped with 16 Fast Ethernet RJ-45 ports and a switching capacity of 3.2 Gbit/s, this compact black desktop switch supports IEEE 802.3 family standards and maintains a MAC address table capable of storing up to 4096 entries. It uses store-and-forward switching and flow-control mechanisms to reduce packet loss and maintain stable data delivery between connected devices.
The Extralink HEXON switch delivers straightforward plug-and-play operation without configuration needs, making deployment quick and simple. Its 16 Fast Ethernet ports provide predictable performance for workstations, printers and small servers. Store-and-forward switching and built-in flow control improve data integrity under load, while LED indicators give immediate status feedback for power and link activity. The compact desktop form factor and black enclosure make it suitable for office or home desk placement.
Place the switch on a stable desktop surface with adequate ventilation. Connect each network device to an available RJ-45 port using standard Ethernet cables; the ports support auto-negotiation for 10/100 Mbps speeds. Connect the supplied power adapter to the switch and a mains outlet; observe the LED indicators to confirm power and link status. Because the device is unmanaged, no configuration is required—connected devices obtain network connectivity immediately. For optimal operation, connect uplink or router ports to the network gateway and distribute endpoints across free ports.
Use high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cables for reliable 100 Mbps links, avoid placing the switch in confined spaces with poor airflow, and position the switch near the network gateway when possible to reduce cable runs and potential signal interference.
