Fibre optic cable Tecline ST-LC 2m
The Tecline ST-LC 2m fibre optic cable is a duplex multimode patch cord designed for short- to medium-range network connections. It uses OM2 multimode fibre with a 50 µm core diameter and terminates with an ST connector on one end and an LC connector on the other, providing compatibility between different transceiver and patch panel types. The 2 meter length balances installation flexibility and minimal excess cable in rack and cabinet environments, while the multimode construction supports reliable high-speed data transmission with low attenuation over typical LAN and data centre distances.
This fibre optic cable offers stable signal transmission with low insertion loss and return loss characteristic of properly terminated multimode connectors. The combination of ST and LC connectors enables interoperability between legacy ST equipment and modern LC-based transceivers. The OM2 50 µm core supports widely used multimode transceivers and provides a cost-effective solution for campus networks, ethernet links and patching in telecom rooms. The 2 m length is convenient for rack-to-rack or device-to-patch-panel connections without excessive slack.
Inspect connector end-faces for cleanliness before installation and clean with appropriate fibre-optic cleaning tools if necessary. Plug the ST connector into the ST-style transceiver or bulkhead by aligning the key and engaging the bayonet lock. Insert the LC connector into the LC-style socket until it latches. Avoid bending the cable below its minimum bend radius and secure excess cable to prevent strain on the connectors. When routing in racks or trays, keep multimode patch cords separate from single-mode runs and high-voltage cables to reduce the risk of damage or interference during handling.
Store and handle the cable in a manner that prevents contamination of connector end-faces; use dust caps when connectors are not in use. For optimal performance in data centre or network installations, verify the link with appropriate optical loss test equipment and ensure connectors and ports are compatible with OM2 multimode specifications.
