The Tenda nova MW5G (3-pack) is a whole‑home mesh Wi‑Fi system designed to provide reliable dual‑band wireless coverage across larger homes with broadband speeds of 100 Mbps or higher. Each node supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (Wi‑Fi 5 / 802.11ac) and includes two gigabit Ethernet LAN ports. Nodes arrive pre‑paired and automatically form a distributed mesh network that extends Wi‑Fi through multiple rooms and floors while maintaining a single SSID and seamless roaming.
The system combines dual‑band operation, built‑in antennas, RF optimization and beamforming to improve wall penetration and signal distribution. Two power amplifiers per band and Maximal Ratio Combining (MRC) enhance both transmit and receive performance, helping devices maintain stronger two‑way connections behind walls. The 1 GHz main chip with MU‑MIMO enables simultaneous communication with multiple devices, and the product supports up to 80 connected devices. Setup is simplified by pre‑paired nodes and automatic networking; basic security and parental controls are included.
Connect the primary node to your modem via an Ethernet cable and power it on. Unbox the secondary nodes and place them in rooms where you need better coverage, then plug them in; they will automatically join the primary node thanks to pre‑paired configuration. Use the Tenda app to complete initial setup, configure Wi‑Fi name and password, switch on Capacity‑oriented Mode if desired, and enable parental controls or guest network features. Connect client devices to the single SSID for seamless roaming between nodes.
Place nodes in open areas away from large metal objects and heavy interference sources; for best performance, position secondary nodes roughly halfway between the primary node and coverage dead zones. Use gigabit Ethernet ports for wired backhaul where possible to improve throughput and stability.
