Topex 05A222 is a single-piece hand axe weighing 1.36 kg and supplied as one piece per pack. Designed for general chopping and cutting tasks, this axe is intended for household and outdoor use including firewood splitting, campsite work and light timber processing. The head is made from high-quality tool steel with selective hardening to resist cracking from impact, while the durable blade offers notable resistance to blunting. The handle is constructed from fibreglass and coated with an anti-slip material to improve grip and withstand moisture, temperature changes and mechanical wear. The product is manufactured in line with DIN 5131 and holds TÜV and GS certifications.
The single-piece construction combines a hardened tool steel head with a fibreglass handle for balanced durability and impact resistance. Selective hardening of the head reduces the risk of cracks from repeated strikes and the blade geometry is designed for sustained cutting performance with less frequent sharpening. The fibreglass handle is resistant to temperature fluctuations and moisture, and the anti-slip coating improves handling and user safety during manual chopping operations. Compliance with DIN 5131 and TÜV/GS certification provide independent assurance of manufacturing quality and safety.
Use the axe for manual chopping and splitting tasks by gripping the fibreglass handle firmly with both hands and swinging in a controlled motion toward the target wood. Position the workpiece on a stable surface and ensure bystanders are at a safe distance. For splitting, strike the end grain near the center of the log and avoid glancing blows to reduce the risk of blade damage. After use, clean the blade of sap and debris, dry thoroughly and store in a dry place to protect the steel and handle.
Regularly inspect the axe head and handle for signs of damage before each use. Keep the blade sharp and free of rust; sharpen using appropriate sharpening tools and follow safety precautions. Wear protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection and sturdy footwear when working. Store the axe away from direct moisture and extreme temperatures to maintain fibreglass handle integrity and blade condition.
