TP-Link TL-SG108PE 8-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch with 4-Port PoE
TP-Link TL-SG108PE 8-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch with 4-Port PoE
The TP-Link TL-SG108PE is an 8-port Gigabit Easy Smart switch designed to provide reliable network connectivity and power delivery. Featuring 4 Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports, this L2 managed switch allows for the simultaneous transfer of data and power over a single cable, simplifying installations for various network devices. With a robust metal casing and a fanless design, it ensures quiet operation and durability in any home or office environment.
This switch offers intelligent power management, which automatically protects the device from overloads by prioritizing power delivery when total consumption exceeds 55W. Users benefit from enhanced network control through features such as traffic prioritization, VLAN support, and Quality of Service (QoS), which help maintain stable performance for critical applications. The web-based interface and configuration utility make it easy to monitor traffic and manage network settings without requiring complex technical expertise.
This device is not intended for large-scale enterprise networks that require advanced routing capabilities or high-density port counts. It is also not suitable for devices that require more than 15.4W of power per port or for setups exceeding the total 55W power budget.
To set up the switch, connect your network devices to the RJ-45 ports using compatible Ethernet cables. For devices requiring power, such as IP cameras or access points, use ports 1 through 4. Once connected to a power source, the switch will automatically detect IEEE 802.3af compliant devices and begin power delivery. You can access the management interface via a web browser to configure VLANs, QoS settings, or monitor network traffic.
For optimal performance and longevity, ensure the switch is placed in a well-ventilated area, even though it features a fanless design. Regularly check the web-based management interface to monitor traffic behavior and ensure that power-hungry devices are prioritized correctly within the 55W limit.
