The MC420L media converter converts between 10GBASE-SR/LR fiber, 10GBASE-LRM fiber and 10GBASE-T copper, enabling extension of existing 10G Ethernet networks over fiber when used with a compatible SFP module. It supports IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR/LR and IEEE 802.3an 10GBASE-T standards and is suitable for point-to-point long-range links such as interbuilding connections, remote surveillance feeds and factory automation links.
