The Mercusys MS108GP 8-Port Gigabit Switch provides seven PoE+ ports (ports 1–7) with a total PoE budget of 65 W and full Gigabit connectivity on all eight ports. It supports IEEE 802.3af/at Powered Devices and offers features such as long-range Extend Mode up to 250 m, port prioritization, traffic isolation, and a durable metal housing. The switch is intended for deployment in offices, small businesses, dormitories and other locations needing powered devices like IP cameras, access points, IP phones and video recorders.
The switch eliminates extra power adapters and cabling by supplying up to 30 W per PoE+ port within a 65 W budget, reducing infrastructure cost and simplifying installation. Extend Mode enables long-distance PoE transmission (up to 250 m) for broader surveillance coverage. Traffic separation and port prioritization help protect devices and maintain quality for latency-sensitive services such as voice and video. The metal enclosure improves heat dissipation and stability, while plug-and-play auto-negotiation and MDI/MDIX remove the need for complex configuration.
Place the switch in a ventilated location and connect it to your network using standard Ethernet cables. Connect PoE-powered devices to ports 1–7 to supply power and data over a single cable; non-PoE devices connect to any of the eight Gigabit ports. Use the built-in management features to enable Extend Mode when long-range PoE (up to 250 m) is required, configure port prioritization for critical services, and enable isolation mode for traffic separation where needed. No special cabling or external power supplies are required for PoE devices within the available power budget.
To avoid exceeding the 65 W total PoE budget, calculate the power draw of connected PoE devices before deployment and assign priority to essential ports. For long-range installations using Extend Mode, verify device compatibility and test link stability at the intended distances.
