Unmanaged Switch TP-Link TL-SF1005LP 5-Port 10/100Mbps with 4-Port PoE
The TP-LINK TL-SF1005LP is an unmanaged Fast Ethernet switch with five 10/100 Mbps ports, including four IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE ports and a total PoE budget of 41 W. Designed for small networks, it supplies data and power over Ethernet to IP cameras, access points, IP phones and other PoE devices. The metal casing and tested components provide durable operation for surveillance and basic network connectivity.
The TL-SF1005LP supports up to 15.4 W per PoE port while maintaining a total budget of 41 W, enabling multiple PoE devices to run without separate power supplies. An extend mode allows PoE transmission distances up to 250 m for long-range camera deployment (with reduced port speed). One-touch Priority Mode lets you prioritise ports 1–2 for video traffic, and intelligent power management automatically cuts power to lower-priority ports if the total draw would exceed the 41 W budget, protecting connected devices.
Install the TL-SF1005LP on a flat surface or mount it in a suitable location. Connect non-PoE and PoE devices to the appropriate RJ-45 ports using Cat5e or better cabling. The switch is unmanaged and requires no configuration: it provides automatic detection and power negotiation for PoE devices. To extend distance for a remote camera, enable extend mode (consult the product manual) and note that port speed will fall to 10 Mbps at longer distances.
Use high-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cable for reliable PoE delivery and to maximise transmission distance. Reserve ports 1–2 for critical cameras or video equipment when you need priority video delivery. Ensure the total PoE power consumption of connected devices does not exceed the 41 W budget; if necessary, assign lower-power devices to lower-priority ports.
