Unmanaged Switch TP-Link TL-SF1005P 5-Port 10/100Mbps
Unmanaged Switch TP-Link TL-SF1005P 5-Port 10/100Mbps
The TP-Link TL-SF1005P is an unmanaged 5-port Fast Ethernet desktop switch with four Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports that support IEEE 802.3af. It delivers 10/100Mbps connectivity, a MAC address table for up to 2000 entries and a switching capacity of 1 Gbit/s. The compact metal housing with desktop or wall-mount options and a fanless design makes the TL-SF1005P suitable for small office and home network deployments that require both data and power delivery to devices such as IP cameras and access points.
Four auto-negotiation RJ45 ports (ports 1–4) provide IEEE 802.3af PoE to power compliant devices directly through the Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and reducing the need for separate power supplies. Intelligent power management monitors total consumption and will disable lower-priority port power if the aggregate draw exceeds the 58W limit to protect connected equipment. Sturdy metal casing and shielded RJ45 ports offer physical durability and EMI protection, while the fanless design ensures quiet operation.
Place the TL-SF1005P on a flat surface or mount it on a wall using the included mounting points. Connect your network devices to the RJ45 ports using Cat5e or better Ethernet cables; plug PoE-capable devices into ports 1–4 to receive both data and power automatically if they conform to IEEE 802.3af. Connect the switch to the provided DC power adapter. The switch operates as an unmanaged device and requires no configuration; link/activity LEDs indicate port status and PoE usage.
To ensure reliable PoE operation, calculate the total power requirements of connected devices and keep the combined draw below the 58 W budget. Prioritise critical devices on higher-priority ports if available, use Cat5e or higher cabling for stable 100Mbps links, and install the switch in a ventilated location away from direct heat sources despite its metal, fanless design.
