Managed Switch TP-Link TL-SG1008P 8-Port Gigabit PoE, 4-Port PoE
The TP-Link TL-SG1008P is an 8-port Gigabit managed desktop switch with four Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. It provides Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) connectivity across eight RJ45 ports, a switching capacity of 16 Gbit/s and a MAC address table that supports up to 4000 entries. The compact, fanless metal housing and shielded RJ45 sockets make the switch suitable for small office and home installations where quiet, reliable PoE delivery is required.
The TL-SG1008P offers four IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE ports that automatically detect and power compatible devices, simplifying installation of IP cameras, phones and access points. Intelligent power management prevents overload by switching off lower-priority ports when total power demand exceeds the 55 W budget. A managed feature set, Gigabit ports and a sturdy metal enclosure with a fanless design ensure stable operation and durability in desktop or rack-adjacent deployments.
Place the switch on a stable desktop surface or mount it near network equipment. Connect network devices to the RJ45 Gigabit ports; plug IEEE 802.3af-compatible Powered Devices into PoE ports (Ports 1–4) to receive data and power over a single Ethernet cable. Connect the switch to your network core or router using one of the Gigabit ports. Provide DC power to the switch according to the product specification. Use the switch management interface to configure VLANs, QoS or other managed features as required for your network.
To ensure reliable PoE operation, total connected device power should not exceed the 55 W budget; assign higher priority to critical devices (for example security cameras or VoIP phones) so intelligent power management preserves their power when the budget is exceeded.
