The TP-Link TL-WA855RE WiFi Range Extender 300 Mbps External Antennas is designed to boost your existing wireless network coverage and eliminate dead zones throughout your home or office. By extending your router's signal to hard-to-reach areas, this device ensures a reliable connection for your daily online activities. With compact dimensions and external adjustable antennas, it integrates easily into your living space while optimizing signal reception and overall performance.

Advantages

This wireless range extender offers a straightforward way to improve network reach without complex configuration. The external adjustable antennas provide enhanced signal stability compared to internal antenna designs, helping to maintain a steady connection across multiple rooms. Operating at speeds up to 300 Mbps, it supports standard web browsing, music streaming, and casual online tasks. Its compact wall-plug design preserves floor and desk space while blending discreetly into standard electrical outlets.

Suitable for

• Extending Wi-Fi coverage in medium-sized homes and apartments
• Eliminating wireless dead zones in remote rooms or hallways
• Providing a stable connection for smart TVs, laptops, and mobile devices
• Improving signal reception in multi-story buildings or office spaces

When it may not be suitable

This device may not meet the demands of very large households with multiple 4K video streams, heavy online gaming, and large file transfers simultaneously, as the 300 Mbps speed limit and single-band operation can become a bottleneck. It is also unsuitable for environments lacking an existing Wi-Fi router or access point to extend.

Key specifications

• Wireless speed up to 300 Mbps
• External adjustable antennas
• Wall-plug design
• Compatible with standard wireless routers and access points

How to use

Plug the extender into an electrical outlet near your main wireless router during the initial setup phase. Press the WPS button on your router, followed by the WPS button on the extender to establish a connection automatically. Alternatively, you can use the web management page or tether app for setup. Once configured, unplug the device and move it to a location roughly halfway between your router and the area with poor signal coverage, ensuring the placement remains within range of the primary network.

What to consider before purchase

• Check the distance between your router and the dead zone to ensure optimal placement
• Verify that your current internet router supports standard Wi-Fi protocols
• Consider your bandwidth requirements for heavy data usage tasks

For the best performance, place the TP-Link TL-WA855RE in an open area free from physical obstructions like large metal objects, thick concrete walls, and household appliances that may cause wireless interference.
