How to use

Plug the extender into a power outlet within range of your router, press the WPS button on your router and then on the TL-WA860RE to establish a wireless link automatically. After initial setup, you may unplug and relocate the extender within the router’s coverage area and it will reconnect without reconfiguration. To use AP Mode, connect an Ethernet cable from your modem or switch to the extender’s LAN port and switch to Access Point mode via the web interface or Tether app. For connecting wired devices, attach them to the extender’s Ethernet port when it operates in adapter mode.

Usage recommendations

Place the extender midway between your router and the area with weak Wi‑Fi signals, using the smart signal LEDs to ensure a stable connection. Avoid installing the unit near large metal objects, microwaves or cordless phone bases to reduce interference. Update firmware and use the TP‑Link Tether app to manage settings and monitor performance.
