Network analyser Trendnet TC-NTP1
The TRENDnet TC-NTP1 Inline PoE Tester is a compact, battery-free network tester designed for inline PoE diagnostics. It connects between a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and a Powered Device (PD) using its two Gigabit ports and displays real-time measurements such as voltage, amperage and wattage. The tester supports IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards for active PoE up to 100 W and also detects non-standard passive PoE devices within an 11–60 V range. Its small size (approximately 100 mm x 36 mm x 26 mm) makes it convenient to carry for field use.
The TC-NTP1 provides on-the-spot measurement of PoE parameters without needing batteries or additional equipment, offering a front-panel 4-digit LED display and LED indicators that show PoE type, source, polarity, and power. It offers three modes for flexible testing — T-mode for evaluating PSE ports and voltage output, N-mode for passive PoE devices, and I-mode for inline PD measurements — and includes a step button to cycle or lock readings and a toggle switch to change modes.
Connect the PSE (PoE switch or injector) to the PSE-labelled Gigabit port and connect the PD (device being powered) to the PD-labelled Gigabit port. Use the bottom toggle switch to select T-mode to test the PSE port and measure voltage output, N-mode for non-standard passive PoE devices, or I-mode for inline measurement of the connected PD. Press the step button to cycle through voltage, amperage and wattage readouts; press and hold if you want to lock a specific readout for continuous monitoring. Read the numeric values on the front-panel LED and refer to the LED indicators for PoE type, polarity and power status.
Use the TC-NTP1 inline between the PSE and PD when you need immediate, real-time power measurements. For best results, verify the mode matches the device type (T-mode for PSE testing, N-mode for passive PoE, I-mode for inline PD measurement) and avoid inserting the tester in environments with extreme temperatures or moisture.
