Managed Switch Trendnet TPE-1620WSF
The TRENDnet Managed Switch TPE-1620WSF is a rack-mountable L2+/L3 Gigabit Ethernet switch with 20 gigabit ports and Power over Ethernet (PoE+) capability. Designed for small and medium business networks, it provides a 40 Gbps switching capacity, a 370 W total PoE budget that supplies up to 30 W per PoE port, and SFP support for fiber uplinks. The switch is IPv6-ready and includes a web-based management interface for configuration and monitoring.
This managed switch combines advanced traffic management and security features—such as LACP link aggregation, 802.1Q VLANs, voice VLAN, QoS, dynamic ARP inspection, and L2+ IPv4/IPv6 static routing—to improve network performance and offload routing tasks from routers. Built-in monitoring and troubleshooting tools (RMON, SNMP, SNMP Trap, port mirroring, cable diagnostics) and flexible access control options (ACL, 802.1X, MAC/port filtering, TACACS+, RADIUS) simplify administration. The 1U, 19" rackmount design with smart fans supports deployment in rack environments while optimizing cooling and energy use.
Mount the switch in a 19" rack using the included brackets and connect power. Connect network devices to the PoE+ ports to power cameras, APs, or VoIP phones; optionally use SFP modules in the shared ports for fiber uplinks. Access the web-based management interface through a browser using the switch IP address to configure VLANs, QoS, link aggregation (LACP), static routing, and security settings. Use SNMP, RMON, and syslog for monitoring and enable dynamic ARP inspection to protect against ARP spoofing.
For optimal performance, plan VLAN and QoS settings before deployment to separate voice, surveillance, and data traffic. Ensure the combined PoE power draw of connected devices does not exceed the 370 W budget and distribute high-power devices across ports accordingly. Enable monitoring (SNMP/RMON) and run cable diagnostics during installation to verify link quality.
