Unmanaged Switch Trendnet TPE-LG50
The TRENDnet TPE-LG50 is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch with five 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports and integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Designed for straightforward network expansion, this compact black switch delivers full duplex operation, a MAC address table capable of storing up to 2000 entries and a switching capacity of 10 Gbit/s. It complies with common networking standards including IEEE 802.3, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.3ab, IEEE 802.3x and PoE standards IEEE 802.3af/at for powering compatible devices over Ethernet cabling.
The unmanaged design requires no configuration, allowing plug-and-play deployment in small office, retail or home environments. Gigabit Ethernet ports provide high-speed wired connections for computers and networked devices while PoE support simplifies installation of powered devices such as access points, IP cameras and VoIP phones by eliminating separate power cabling. The device’s compact footprint and standard-compliant implementation ensure compatibility with existing network equipment.
Place the switch on a stable surface or mount it as appropriate for the installation environment and connect it to your network using standard Ethernet cables. Connect devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports; PoE-capable ports will provide power automatically to compatible devices without additional power supplies. No software setup is required for basic operation — the switch performs switching and forwarding tasks automatically. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit and connect to a suitably rated power source following the manufacturer’s instructions.
For reliable PoE delivery, use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and verify device power requirements against the switch’s PoE class and budget. Locate the switch in a dry, dust-free area with unobstructed airflow and avoid stacking multiple powered devices directly on top of it. For mixed traffic with high throughput demands, place bandwidth-intensive devices on separate ports to distribute load across the switch’s switching capacity.
