Vapor barrier foil Tytan FM PI 2×50 m 0.2 mm yellow
Tytan vapor barrier foil FM PI 2×50 m, 0.2 mm in yellow is a roll-mounted membrane intended to limit inward moisture transfer from heated interior spaces into roof and wall constructions. Supplied in a 2 m wide by 50 m long roll, the foil is made for installation under the internal finishing layer or directly above thermal insulation to prevent condensation inside cavities and to protect insulating materials and structural elements.
The foil offers a continuous vapour-retarding layer with uniform 0.2 mm thickness to ensure consistent performance across joints and overlaps. Its roll format enables on-site cutting to required lengths and reduces the number of joints. The yellow colour assists visual alignment during installation and inspection. The material is lightweight for easier handling and fast application in confined attic and partition spaces.
This vapor barrier foil is not a weatherproof external membrane and should not be used as the primary external roofing or wall cladding. It provides vapour control but not structural support or significant mechanical protection; in exposed or high-impact locations a more robust barrier or protective layer is required. The product is intended for use in conventional building envelopes and may not be appropriate where a variable-permeability or smart membrane is specifically required by the design.
Unroll the foil and cut to length with a sharp knife or scissors. Install the vapour barrier on the warm side of the insulation, fixing it to rafters, studs or framing members with staples, adhesive tape or approved fasteners, ensuring continuous coverage. Overlap adjacent sheets according to best practice and seal all joints, penetrations and terminations with suitable vapour-tight tape or sealant to maintain continuity. Ensure compatibility with adjoining materials and leave appropriate ventilation on the external side of the insulation where required by the building design.
Install the foil on the warm side of insulation and always tape or seal overlaps and penetrations to ensure a continuous vapour retarder. Combine with proper external ventilation and follow local building codes for vapour control to avoid condensation-related issues.
