Copper Adhesive Tape for Slugs UN model GL-MT0425 4 m × 25 mm
UN Copper Adhesive Tape GL-MT0425, 4 m × 25 mm, is a self-adhesive copper strip designed to create a physical and chemical barrier that discourages slugs and snails from crossing into protected areas. The tape sticks to pots, borders, raised beds and other surfaces to protect seedlings, container plants and vulnerable vegetable patches. Its narrow width and flexible backing allow application on curved and straight surfaces in gardens, balconies and greenhouses.
The self-adhesive backing ensures quick and secure attachment without additional fasteners, and the copper surface acts as a contact deterrent for gastropods. The 4-metre length provides multiple sections for small containers or continuous runs around borders, and the 25 mm width balances coverage with unobtrusive appearance. The material is weather-resistant under normal outdoor conditions and can be applied to a wide range of substrates including terracotta, plastic, wood and metal.
Clean and dry the surface where the tape will be applied, removing soil, dust and loose debris to ensure good adhesion. Measure and cut the required length of tape, then peel away the protective liner and press the copper side firmly onto the surface. For pots or thin edges, wrap the tape around and overlap the ends slightly to form a continuous barrier. Replace sections showing heavy corrosion or loss of adhesion. Do not apply tape directly to plants or to soil where it will be buried.
For best results, combine placement of the copper tape with general slug management: remove hiding places, clear decaying plant material, and use traps or baiting where appropriate. Regularly inspect the tape for debris, oxidation or detachment and clean gently with a soft cloth to maintain contact effectiveness.
