Transition Coupling Unidelta PE Male Thread 50 mm × 2" 601551
The Unidelta transition coupling PE male thread 50 mm × 2" is a polyethylene fitting designed to join a 50 mm PE pipe to a standard 2" male threaded connection. Intended for plumbing, irrigation and water distribution systems, this coupling provides a mechanical transition between plastic pipework and threaded valves, meters or equipment. Construction in PE material ensures compatibility with polyethylene piping and resistance to common water system conditions.
The coupling offers a compact and straightforward solution for converting a smooth-bore 50 mm polyethylene pipe to a 2" male thread without solvent welding or complex adapters. Its polyethylene body reduces the risk of galvanic corrosion when used with plastic systems and maintains chemical compatibility with typical potable and non-potable water media. The design enables a stable mechanical connection that simplifies installation and maintenance in both underground and aboveground applications.
Prepare the PE pipe by cutting a clean, square end and deburring the inner and outer edges. Slide the coupling onto the pipe according to the manufacturer's assembly method and ensure proper insertion depth. Tighten the 2" male thread to the mating female fitting using suitable tools, taking care not to over-torque plastic components. Verify alignment and check for leaks after pressurizing the system. Follow standard practices for PE pipe joining and the installation environment (burial depth, protection from mechanical stress).
Use compatible sealing materials on the 2" male thread where required, and avoid excessive mechanical stress or bending on the PE pipe near the coupling. For buried installations, provide appropriate bedding and protection from sharp objects. When connecting to metal fittings, ensure any necessary dielectric measures are applied to prevent dissimilar-metal issues.
