Paint Pigment Vallejo Ammo Modelling Pigment Light Dust 35 ml
Vallejo Ammo Modelling Pigment Light Dust 35 ml is a finely milled dry weathering pigment formulated to reproduce light dust, road grime and subtle surface wear on scale models, military vehicles, dioramas and miniatures. The pigment provides a natural matte finish and can be applied dry for delicate dust effects, fixed with a pigment fixer for permanence, or blended with solvents and binders to produce washes and textured layers that simulate realistic aging and environmental exposure.
The powder has a very fine particle size for smooth, controllable application and natural blending into model surfaces. Its neutral light-dust tone integrates well with base paints and enamel or acrylic finishes without altering underlying colours when used correctly. Versatile application methods—dry brushing, fixing, or mixing into fluids—make it suitable for subtle weathering or stronger grime effects. The 35 ml jar offers a practical quantity for multiple projects while protecting the pigment from moisture and spills.
Apply the pigment dry using a soft brush or sponge to deposit a thin, controlled layer where dust would naturally collect. To secure the pigment, spray or brush a pigment fixer or a clear matte varnish over the applied area. For washes or streaking effects, mix the powder with an appropriate solvent or binder to form a suspension, then apply with a brush and allow to dry. Remove excess pigment with a clean brush or cotton bud for subtle transitions, or build up layers for heavier grime and weathering.
Test compatibility on a scrap piece or hidden area before applying to finished models. Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling fine particles; consider a dust mask when working with loose pigment. Store the jar tightly closed in a dry place to preserve consistency and prevent contamination.
