Paints & Pigments VALLEJO Modelling Pigment North Africa Dust 35 ml
VALLEJO Modelling Pigment North Africa Dust 35 ml is a dry pigment formulated for scale modelling and diorama work. Packed in a resealable container, this pigment delivers a fine, powdery texture that reproduces dusty, sandy weathering on vehicles, figures and terrain. It is compatible with common modelling materials such as plastic, resin and metal and can be used alone or mixed with binders or thinner for different finishes.
This North Africa Dust pigment provides realistic, natural-looking dusty tones that enhance scale and depth without obscuring surface detail. The fine particle size allows precise application and smooth blending for subtle graduations or more pronounced weathering. Its dry form is convenient for storage and controlled use; it can be fixed with appropriate varnishes or adhesives to ensure long-lasting effects.
Apply the pigment dry with a soft brush to build up dust effects gradually, or use a stiffer brush to create concentrated deposits in crevices. For a fixed finish, blend the pigment on the surface and then seal with a varnish, pigment fixer, or a light mist of thinner mixed with acrylic medium. For washes or mud effects, mix a small amount of pigment with thinner or binder to create a paste or wash and apply to the model, then remove excess with a clean brush or cotton swab to reveal natural streaking and accumulation.
Avoid inhaling pigment dust and work in a well-ventilated area. Use gentle application and build layers gradually to match the scale and environment of the model. Test fixation methods on a scrap surface before applying to finished models to ensure the desired adhesion and appearance.
