Paint Pigment Vallejo Ammo Modelling Pigment Gun Metal 35 ml
Vallejo Ammo Modelling Pigment Gun Metal 35 ml is a concentrated metallic pigment formulated for scale modelling and miniature weathering. The pigment produces a gun-metal tone suitable for highlighting armor, machinery and small metal details on plastic, resin and metal models. It can be applied dry with a brush or sponge, or mixed with compatible solvents and binders to create metallic washes and glazes for controlled shading and aging effects.
This gun-metal pigment delivers a consistent metallic sheen and fine particle size for even coverage and realistic results. Its concentration allows for versatile use: applied dry for subtle abrasion effects or diluted to form stable metallic washes. The pigment is non-liquid base paint, making it easy to store and control during application. Compatibility with common modelling media gives flexibility for different techniques, including pin-washes, edge highlights and weathering streaks.
Use a dry brush or sponge to apply the pigment directly to raised edges and exposed areas for natural wear effects. For washes and glazes, mix a small amount of pigment with an appropriate solvent or acrylic binder until you reach the desired consistency, then apply with a brush and remove excess with a clean brush or cloth to control the tone. When working on metal parts or primed surfaces, build up thin layers to achieve a gradual metallic finish and avoid overloading details.
Store the bottle upright and tightly closed to prevent spills and contamination. Test dilutions and adhesion on a scrap or hidden area before applying to finished models. Use in a well-ventilated area and follow safety guidance of any solvents or binders used during mixing.
