Acrylic Paint VALLEJO 69.063 Steel, bottle dispenser, 17 ml
VALLEJO Mecha Color in Steel (17 ml) is an acrylic paint formulated for model-making and miniature detailing. It delivers a satin metallic appearance that mimics steel and is designed for use on plastic model surfaces and other substrates often handled during assembly and display. The formulation produces a uniform coating that preserves fine surface detail while providing enhanced resistance to impact, friction and abrasion.
The Mecha Color formula offers exceptional adhesion even on difficult surfaces and dries to a satin finish that resembles original plastic or metal. Its advanced composition increases durability against rough handling, impacts, scratches and wear. The range includes primers and special varnishes as well as tones for aging and weathering, allowing consistent layering and finishing workflows for scale models and miniatures.
This product is optimized for hobby and scale-model applications; it may not be the best choice for large industrial surfaces or heavy-duty exterior use where specialist exterior coatings are required. Very porous or untreated substrates may require a suitable primer before application to ensure optimal adhesion and durability.
Apply Mecha Color on a previously primed surface for best results. The paint can be sprayed directly from the bottle with an airbrush or diluted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver for finer atomization. Multiple thin layers produce a more uniform metallic effect and greater durability than a single thick coat. The paint can also be applied by brush for detail work. Allow a few hours after application for the coating to dry and develop its full mechanical resistance.
For airbrushing, set compressor pressure to 15–20 PSI. Use thin, even layers and allow sufficient drying time between coats. Clean the airbrush regularly with a suitable cleaner to maintain consistent spray performance.
