Paint Set VALLEJO AFV - WWII USMC Colors Sand Patterns, 6 x 17 ml
VALLEJO AFV - WWII USMC Colors Sand Patterns is a set of six acrylic paints in 17 ml bottles formulated for model-making and diorama work. The collection reproduces the sand-pattern camouflage tones used by the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and is suitable for both brush and airbrush application. These acrylics are water-based, fast-drying and designed to blend with other acrylic hobby paints, providing consistent coverage for armour, vehicles and small-scale figures.
The paint set offers historically referenced hues tailored to WWII USMC sand schemes, delivered in convenient 17 ml dropper bottles for precise dispensing. Formulated for modelers, the paints have good pigmentation and adhesion on common modelling surfaces such as plastic, resin and metal. Their compatibility with airbrushing and hand-painting techniques allows for versatile use in base coats, layering and weathering when combined with appropriate thinners and varnishes.
Shake bottles well before use to ensure uniform pigment distribution. For brush painting use undiluted or slightly thinned paint with water or Vallejo acrylic thinner for smoother flow. For airbrushing dilute the paints with an acrylic thinner to the desired viscosity and strain before filling the airbrush. Apply thin, even layers allowing each coat to dry before adding details or weathering. Use an appropriate primer on bare plastic or resin to improve adhesion and color fidelity.
Store paints in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Close caps tightly after use to prevent skinning. For realistic WWII USMC finishes, combine these sand-pattern tones with washes, pigments and varnishes designed for scale modelling; test compatibility of any additives on a small area first.
