It uses 4-pair stranded wire with full braid shielding and pair-level aluminium-clad polyester foil (PiMF) to reduce electromagnetic interference. Both ends are fitted with screened RJ-45 plugs with gold-plated contacts and moulded kink protection for improved durability and a secure fit. Contact wiring follows the EIA/TIA 568 1:1 standard.
