Ball valve Valvex ONYX 1/2" female threaded for water, model 1452460
Valvex ONYX 1/2" female threaded ball valve model 1452460 is a compact shut-off valve designed for water installations. The valve features a quarter-turn ball mechanism and a female 1/2" threaded connection that integrates with standard domestic and light commercial pipe systems. Constructed to provide straightforward on/off control, it is intended for use where a reliable manual isolation point is required in cold or non-aggressive water lines.
The ball valve delivers simple quarter-turn operation for fast opening and closing, reducing the time needed for isolation. Its female threaded connection fits commonly used 1/2" fittings, allowing an easy replacement or installation in existing pipelines. The valve is designed for water service with a compact body suitable for confined installation spaces, and its robust internal ball mechanism provides tight shut-off when closed.
This Valvex ONYX ball valve is intended for water applications and should not be used with aggressive chemicals, highly corrosive fluids, or gases unless the materials and seals are verified for such media. It is not intended as a pressure regulator or flow control valve for precise metering; its design serves on/off isolation. For high-temperature steam, petrochemical applications, or systems requiring certification to special industry standards, select a valve specified for those conditions.
Install the valve inline using compatible 1/2" male threaded fittings and appropriate sealing tape or thread sealant on male threads. Tighten to a secure fit without over-torquing the valve body. Operate the valve by rotating the handle a quarter turn: perpendicular to the pipe for closed, parallel for open. Before installation, flush the pipe to remove debris that could damage the ball or seats. After fitting, check for leaks at ambient pressure and retighten connections if necessary.
For reliable operation, avoid using the valve to throttle flow continuously; use it primarily for full open/full close isolation. Periodically cycle the valve to prevent seizing and inspect seals for wear. When fitting, use appropriate thread sealant and do not exceed recommended torque to prevent damage to the housing or threads.
